Airbrush tanning is the process of administering a solution all over the body by using an airbrush gun and compressor. The airbrush gun is filled with a tanning solution and then sprayed on the body in order to achieve a tanned effect.

The airbrush tanning system uses a solution known as DHA (Dihydroxyacetone) which is a safe substance when sprayed on the body as long as it is not sprayed in the eyes or the mouth. DHA is produced from sugar beets when the glycerin in it is fermented. To enhance your tan effectively and prolong the tanned effect period, some moisturizers and sun blockers are added to the solution.

DHA is a safe solution for cosmetic use and has already been approved by the FDA. Having said that, it is also good to perform a small test before applying the product to your body. Apply a small area of your skin and if you experience any adverse reaction such as itching or rashes then you should not consider using the product.
